![]() Jem Shoe Mistaken Identities By Liz Pemberton/elaineofspain
This is a very basic list focusing on the more expensive
and common mistaken shoe identities, meant to help in shoe transactions. It is
not meant to be a comprehensive guide to every possible mistake. It
also assumes that the reader has access to a basic pictorial guide to the
shoes, and understands the difference between thick-sided and thin-sided
shoes.
Many Jem shoes came with one or more standard variants,
involving mold differences and color. With very few exceptions, I have not
listed these here, because mistakes mean that you get the same shoe just a
different variant and the value is the same. For example, the first-year
Onstage fashions had thick-and thin-sided variants, and all of the Flipside
Fashion sandals came in thick and thin-strap variants. Refer to more
comprehensive shoe guides for details.
KEY: The first shoe listed is more hard to find, and
the second is the more common one commonly mistaken for it.
In some cases, the more common shoe is also hard to find,
and may be of equal value; in some cases, the more hard to find shoe is not
terribly rare, but is still more desirable than the shoe mistaken for it. In a
few cases, the shoes are equal in value, and the difference is only important
to people matching up single shoes, or shoe geeks.
